Dear Parishioners:
I want to share with you some wonderful images from the “Trunk or Treat” event from last Sunday after noon. We are blessed to have a newly formed Home & School Association. They just got their leadership together and then quickly organized their kickoff event for the children in our large parking lot on Girard Ave. It was a fantastic success! The call went out to help celebrate this night of Halloween fun and 27 parents responded by decorating the trunks of their cars / vans with something intriguing for the kids. The creativity was stunning. I was amazed at how some were constructed with the basic household products, painted and decorated them, and put together some really clever displays.
Some neighbors and parishioners stopped by simply to check out what the parents came up with for the event. Sr. Danielle Truex, IHM, along with John Clark was in charge of the “Scare Booth.” John was most eager to show Sr. Danielle the ropes on the most effective scare tactics, since the various scare techniques are rather new to her. The lively music helped to create a nice festive atmosphere. Our kids were playing catch, hide and seek, trick or treating, and just enjoying the company of their friends. Our friends from the local firehouse (Engine 29) were kind enough to come over and pay a visit. The children had the opportunity to climb inside the fire engine and see many of the tools and complicated gages the firefighters must use on a daily basis. The crew was very kind and generous with their time; we are so very grateful to the firefighters who keep us safe from Engine #29. I’m so proud of the H.S.A. And all of their hard work; over $900 was raised from the “trunk or Treat” event for our Catholic School. Way to go team! Quiero compartir con ustedes algunas imágenes maravillosas del evento “Trunk or Treat” del pasado domingo por la tarde. Tenemos la suerte de tener una Asociación de Hogar y Escuela recién creada. Simplemente reunieron su liderazgo y luego organizaron rápidamente su evento de inicio para los niños en nuestro gran estacionamiento en Girard Ave. ¡Fue un éxito fantástico! La llamada salió para ayudar a celebrar esta noche de diversión de Halloween y 27 padres respondieron decorando los baúles de sus autos / camionetas con algo intrigante para los niños. La creatividad fue asombrosa. Me sorprendió cómo algunos se construyeron con los productos básicos del hogar, los pintaron y decoraron, y armaron algunas exhibiciones realmente ingeniosas.
Algunos vecinos y feligreses se detuvieron simplemente para ver qué se les ocurrió a los padres para el evento. La Hna. Danielle Truex, IHM, junto con John Clark, estuvo a cargo del "Scare Booth". John estaba muy ansioso por mostrarle a la Hna. Danielle cómo funcionaban las tácticas de miedo más efectivas, ya que las diversas técnicas de miedo son bastante nuevas para ella. La música animada ayudó a crear un ambiente festivo agradable. Nuestros hijos jugaban a la pelota, al escondite, al truco o trato y simplemente disfrutaban de la compañía de sus amigos.
Nuestros amigos de la estación de bomberos local (Estación 29) tuvieron la amabilidad de venir a visitarnos. Los niños tuvieron la oportunidad de subir al interior del camión de bomberos y ver muchas de las herramientas e instrumentos complicados que los bomberos deben usar a diario. La tripulación fue muy amable y generosa con su tiempo; Estamos muy agradecidos con los bomberos que nos mantienen a salvo de la Estación 29. Estoy muy orgulloso de la H.S.A. Y todo su arduo trabajo; Se recaudaron más de $ 900 del evento “Trunk or Treat” para nuestra escuela católica.
