Dear Parishioners:

In my desire to keep everyone up-to-date, and in the loop, I want to share with you some of the upcoming transfers and where the current Redemptorist are going. The official start date in our new assignments will be on August 16th. Some may leave slightly before due to vacation arrangements and special needs. Br. Kenneth Stigner, who went to Immaculata University last year, will be transferred to San Alfonso Retreat House in Long branch, New Jersey. There, he will also concentrate on youth and Young Adult ministry for the province.

Fr. John McLoughlin will be going to Saint Gerard’s Parish in Lima, Ohio. As you may recall, Fr. John came last September and has been a magnificent help to us here with Masses, Confessions, our school children, Young Adult Minister at St. James The Great, and leading pilgrimages. Fr. John has a very strong work ethic and likes to be involved with people and share his presence with them. He will be greatly missed and his contribution in the short period of time is sincerely appreciated by us all.

Fr. Thomas Deely, will be transferring to St. Alphonsus Villa in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Fr. Tom reluctantly gave away his kayak this past month due to the fact that it only sits about 6 inches above the water, and there are plenty of crocodiles and alligators in Florida. He will not leave the water entirely, however, because the beach is within walking distance of the house, and there is also a swimming pool that he can use at his leisure. Fr Tom Deely, has been instrumental in his work with our Spanish Community and in our Catholic school. Tom is a great and wonderful presence to have in our community, his wonderful personality always brings lots of laughter and levity to our conversations and day-to-day interactions. Fr. Tom‘s incredible energy and commitment to the ministry and people whom he serves

has been an inspiration to us all. God has truly blessed him with energy, good health and that will be his gift moving forward to those he lives with and counters in Florida.

Lastly, it has been my Privilege to serve the people of this Parish, Shine, and Catholic school. I have given my very best to love, nurture, and guide my beloved Parishioners, in the ways of the faith in the practice of that faith. In my own brokenness, I have tried to reflect that in my own, witness to the best of my ability. Working with all of you has brought me great comfort and joy as we share our lives, our good times and bad times, and most importantly, we share our faith together united in prayer. These eight years have gone by so very quickly and the thought of packing and moving somewhere else and starting all over again is not something that I’m quite sure we religious ever get used to. Yet, having the freedom to be mobile and move on whenever and wherever needed is part of our religious life, and I pray that the good Lord will watch over me and take care of me as he did for the eight wonderful years with you all at St. Peter The Apostle Church and National Shrine of St. John Neumann. May Saint John Neumann keep his watchful eye upon us all as we start a new beginning by God’s merciful love and divine grace.

En mi deseo de mantener a todos actualizados y al tanto, quiero compartir con ustedes algunas de las próximas transferencias y hacia dónde se dirigen los Sacerdotes actuales. La fecha de inicio oficial en nuestras nuevas asignaciones será el 16 de agosto. Algunos pueden irse un poco antes debido a arreglos de vacaciones y necesidades especiales. El hermano Kenneth Stigner, quien asistió a la Universidad Immaculata el año pasado, será transferido a la Casa de Retiro San Alfonso en Long Branch, Nueva Jersey. Allí, también se concentrará en el ministerio de jóvenes y jóvenes adultos de la provincia.
Padre John McLoughlin irá a la parroquia de Saint Gerard’s en Lima, Ohio. Como recordarán, el p. John vino en septiembre pasado y ha sido de gran ayuda para nosotros aquí con Misas, Confesiones, nuestros escolares, el Ministro de Jóvenes Adultos en St. James The Great y dirigiendo peregrinaciones. Padre John tiene una ética de trabajo muy fuerte y le gusta involucrarse con la gente y compartir su presencia con ellos. Lo extrañaremos mucho y su contribución en el corto período de tiempo es sinceramente apreciada por todos nosotros.

Padre Thomas Deely, será transferido a St. Alphonsus Villa en New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Padre Tom regaló a regañadientes su kayak el mes pasado debido al hecho de que solo se encuentra a unas 6 pulgadas sobre el agua, y hay muchos cocodrilos y caimanes en Florida. Sin embargo, no dejará el agua por completo, porque la playa está a poca distancia de la casa y también hay una piscina que puede usar en su tiempo libre. El padre Tom Deely ha sido fundamental en su trabajo con nuestra comunidad hispana y en nuestra escuela católica.

Tom es una gran y maravillosa presencia en nuestra comunidad, su maravillosa personalidad siempre trae muchas risas y ligereza a nuestras conversaciones e interacciones diarias. Su increíble energía y el compromiso de Tom con el ministerio y las personas a las que sirve ha sido una inspiración para todos nosotros. Dios realmente lo ha bendecido con energía, buena salud y ese será su regalo para seguir adelante con aquellos con los que vive y contrarresta en Florida.

Por último, ha sido mi privilegio servir a la gente de esta parroquia, Shine y escuela católica. He dado lo mejor de mí para amar, nutrir y guiar a mis amados feligreses, en los caminos de la fe en la práctica de esa fe. En mi propio quebrantamiento, he tratado de reflejar eso en mi propio testimonio, lo mejor que he podido. Trabajar con todos ustedes me ha brindado un gran consuelo y alegría al compartir nuestras vidas, nuestros buenos y malos momentos, y lo más importante, compartimos nuestra fe unidos en oración. Estos ocho años han pasado muy rápido y la idea de empacar y mudarse a otro lugar y comenzar de nuevo no es algo a lo que estoy seguro de que los religiosos alguna vez nos acostumbremos. Sin embargo, tener la libertad de ser móvil y avanzar cuando y donde sea necesario es parte de nuestra vida religiosa, y oro para que el buen Señor me cuide y cuide de mí como lo hizo durante los ocho años maravillosos con todos ustedes en Iglesia de San Pedro Apóstol y Santuario Nacional de San Juan Neumann. Que San Juan Neumann mantenga su ojo vigilante sobre todos nosotros mientras comenzamos un nuevo comienzo por el amor misericordioso de Dios y la gracia divina.
