Dear Parishioners,

Throughout our lives, we experience moments of immense happiness and joy, as well as moments of sorrow, grief, and change. These events often occur over a lifetime, allowing us time to regain our balance before continuing our journey. However, the rhythm of joy and sorrow, life and death, celebration and mourning is not always evenly distributed.
This can be especially true in the life of a parish and within the Church, where we may experience great joys, such as the baptism of an infant or the reception of First Holy Communion, alongside the loss of loved ones and the mourning of their transition from this life to the next. We are reminded of this reality as we continue to grieve the passing of Pope Francis.
This week, we were particularly aware of this balance. On Sunday, twenty-five students from both St. Peter the Apostle School and our Religious Education program at St. Peter the Apostle Church received their First Holy Communion. The church was filled with family, friends, and those who helped prepare the students for this sacrament, including teachers, catechists, and, most importantly, the students’ parents and guardians.
A special word of thanks goes out to Connie Milek, Sister Danielle Truex, Nelson Malave, Sister Carmen Torres, and all the teachers and catechists who contributed to making this day so special. Let us continue to pray for our new communicants as they continue their sacramental journey!

Queridos Feligreses,

A lo largo de nuestras vidas, experimentamos momentos de inmensa felicidad y alegría, así como momentos de tristeza, dolor y cambio. Estos eventos ocurren a lo largo de la vida, lo que nos da tiempo para recuperar el equilibrio antes de continuar nuestro camino. Sin embargo, el ritmo de la alegría y la tristeza, la vida y la muerte, la celebración y el duelo no siempre se distribuye equitativamente.
Esto puede ser especialmente cierto en la vida de una parroquia y dentro de la Iglesia, donde podemos experimentar grandes alegrías, como el bautismo de un bebé o la recepción de la Primera Comunión, junto con la pérdida de seres queridos y el duelo por su transición de esta vida a la siguiente. Recordamos esta realidad al continuar el duelo por el fallecimiento del Papa Francisco.
Esta semana, fuimos particularmente conscientes de este equilibrio. El domingo, veinticinco estudiantes de la Escuela San Pedro Apóstol y de nuestro programa de Educación Religiosa en la Iglesia San Pedro Apóstol recibieron su Primera Comunión. La iglesia estaba llena de familiares, amigos y quienes ayudaron a preparar a los estudiantes para este sacramento, incluyendo maestros, catequistas y, sobre todo, los padres y tutores de los estudiantes. Un agradecimiento especial para Connie Milek, la Hermana Danielle Truex, Nelson Malave, la Hermana Carmen Torres y todos los maestros y catequistas que

contribuyeron a hacer de este día un día tan especial.
