Dear Parishioners,

Last Sunday, on Mother’s Day, we took a moment to honor our mothers and mother figures, both living and deceased. We commemorated them at St. Peter the Apostle Church by lighting candles of remembrance and love over three nights. Let us continue to keep our mothers in our prayers! Thanks to Linda Farrell, Angie Yencho, Diane Lazusky, Kimberly Piedra, and Eneida Davila for organizing and preparing the Mother’s Day candles.
In other news, Habemus Papam! We have a Pope! Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost has been elected as the first American pope, choosing the name Pope Leo XIV. In his inaugural speech at St. Peter’s Square, he shared a vision of peace, unity, and connection. This moment is inspiring for over a billion Roman Catholics worldwide. Let us thank God for our new Roman Pontiff and keep him in our prayers for guidance and blessings as he leads his global flock.

El domingo pasado, Día de las Madres, dedicamos un momento a honrar a nuestras madres y figuras maternas, tanto vivas como fallecidas. Las conmemoramos en la Iglesia de San Pedro Apóstol encendiendo velas en recuerdo y amor durante tres noches. ¡Sigamos teniendo a nuestras madres presentes en nuestras oraciones!
