Dear Parishioners,
This past Thursday evening, at the 5:30 pm mass, we welcomed Bishop Edward Deliman and Deacon Patrick Kennedy to St. Peter the Apostle Church for the Confirmation Mass of the young men and women of our parish family. Some 35 candidates from St. Peter the Apostle School and our Religious Education program received the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit during the Confirmation ceremony. I ask that you pray for those newly confirmed, especially in the weeks ahead, as they also pray for our parish family. Also, we pray for and thank Bishop Deliman for celebrating this important sacrament in the lives of these young men and women and the life of our church. To the newly confirmed, we pray that you will always remain open to the grace and the fruits of this sacrament and that the seven-fold gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord (wonder & awe) will always profoundly be with you. We most especially give thanks to our teachers and catechists who, week after week, dedicate themselves to preparing and planting the seeds of faith in the minds and hearts of our children. You are indeed a gift to the students you serve, and you are the “pearl of great price” for this parish. You help to create a vibrant community of faith and form a family of believers who are dedicated to following Christ our Redeemer. Thank you so very much for your commitment and passion for our faith!

El jueves pasado por la tarde, en la misa de las 5:30 pm, recibimos al Obispo Edward Deliman y al Diácono Patrick Kennedy en la Iglesia San Pedro Apóstol para la Misa de Confirmación de los jóvenes de nuestra familia parroquial. Unos 35 candidatos de la Escuela San Pedro Apóstol y de nuestro programa de Educación Religiosa recibieron el derramamiento del Espíritu Santo de Dios durante la ceremonia de Confirmación. Les pido que oren por los recién confirmados, especialmente en las próximas semanas, ya que ellos también oran por nuestra familia parroquial. Además, oramos y agradecemos al obispo Deliman por celebrar este importante sacramento en las vidas de estos jóvenes y la vida de nuestra iglesia. A los recién confirmados, oramos para que siempre permanezcan abiertos a la gracia y a los frutos de este sacramento y que los siete dones del Espíritu Santo: Sabiduría, Entendimiento, Consejo, Fortaleza, Conocimiento, Piedad y Temor de la Palabra. El Señor (maravilla y asombro) siempre estará profundamente contigo. Damos gracias muy especialmente a nuestros maestros y catequistas que, semana tras semana, se dedican a preparar y plantar las semillas de la fe en la mente y el corazón de nuestros niños. De hecho, usted es un regalo para los estudiantes a los que sirve y es la “perla de gran valor” para esta parroquia. Ayudas a crear una comunidad vibrante de fe y a formar una familia de creyentes dedicados a seguir a Cristo nuestro Redentor. ¡Muchas gracias por su compromiso y pasión por nuestra fe!
