Dear Parishioners,
Our fellow parishioners Anne, Kevin, and Adam Svonavec have been organizing the annual
Easter Egg hunt tradition for St. Peter the Apostle Church for many years. Every Easter Sunday, after
the 9:30 am and 11:00 am masses, they fill hundreds of eggs with candy for the children to collect.
Witnessing the joy on the children’s faces on Easter day is truly heartwarming. We are immensely
grateful to the Svonavec family and Linda Farrell, who helped organize this wonderful event. Their
dedication to our church inspires all members of our congregation and makes our community a
happier place.
The hatching of a chick from an egg is a powerful symbol of new life. Similarly, Easter egg
symbolize Jesus ‘resurrection from the dead, with the hard shell representing the sealed tomb and
the egg cracking representing Jesus ‘resurrection. The egg also represents new life emerging from
the eggshell, similar to how Jesus rose from the tomb.

La eclosión de un polluelo de un huevo es un poderoso símbolo de nueva vida. Del mismo modo, el huevo de Pascua
simbolizan la resurrección de Jesús de entre los muertos, con la cáscara dura representando la tumba sellada y
el huevo que se rompe representa la resurrección de Jesús. El huevo también representa nueva vida que emerge de
la cáscara del huevo, similar a cómo Jesús resucitó de la tumba.
