Dear Parishioners:
In the predominantly Catholic Philippines, Passion Plays called Senákulo are performed every Semana Santa (Holy Week). Our very own Filipino American community has been performing this moving re-enactment of Jesus’ trial, suffering, and death on Palm Sunday for the last 25 years. The quality of production is truly remarkable, with costumes, props, and acting worthy of a professional theater. It is a family-friendly event that I encourage you to attend in the future. Many have been moved to tears and it will certainly bring you closer to our Lord. I want to express my gratitude to all the volunteers who made this production possible. Your willingness to share your gifts has strengthened the mission of this parish. I would like to specifically thank those who played a major role in this year’s production: Directress of the Passion Play – Cariel Jalosjos, Lem Agustin, Jan Warren, Marisol, Maxi and Tatti Jalosjos, Joseph Loreto, Deacon Romy Modelo, Tim Moralba, Faye Supelana, Edwin Yanga and the 55 other members of the cast and choir. Lastly, it is with both sadness and gratitude that I inform you that Father Huan Le will be leaving us to begin his new assignment at The Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Brooklyn, NY, starting on Sunday, April 7. Father Huan has been a great support to our church, shrine, rectory, and school through his ministry, and we are grateful for his invaluable contributions. We pray that our Most Holy Redeemer blesses his labors and that those he encounters during his ministry bring him joy and comfort. To honor and thank Father Huan, we will be hosting a small reception in the Atrium immediately following the 9:30 am mass on April 7th. We hope you can join us in bidding farewell to Father Huan and wishing him well in his new journey.

En Filipinas, predominantemente católica, cada año se representan obras de la Pasión llamadas Senákulo. Semana Santa (Semana Santa). Nuestra propia comunidad filipinoamericana ha estado actuando esta conmovedora recreación del juicio, el sufrimiento y la muerte de Jesús el Domingo de Ramos durante los últimos 25 años. La calidad de la producción es realmente notable, con vestuario, utilería y actuaciones dignas de un teatro profesional. Es un evento familiar al que los animo a asistir en el futuro. Muchos se han conmovido hasta las lágrimas y ciertamente esto los acercará más a nuestro Señor. Quiero expresar mi agradecimiento a todos los voluntarios que hicieron posible esta producción. Su La buena voluntad de compartir sus dones ha fortalecido la misión de esta parroquia. Por último, con tristeza y gratitud les informo que el Padre Huan Le se marchará.para comenzar su nueva asignación en la Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro en Brooklyn, Nueva York, a partir del domingo 7 de abril. El Padre Huan ha sido un gran apoyo para nuestra iglesia, santuario, rectoría,y la escuela a través de su ministerio, y estamos agradecidos por sus invaluables contribuciones. Oramos que nuestro Santísimo Redentor bendiga sus labores y que quienes encuentre durante su ministerio le trae alegría y consuelo. Para honrar y agradecer al Padre Huan, organizaremos una pequeña recepción en el Atrio inmediatamente después de la misa de las 9:30 am el 7 de abril.
